The Valentine Garland

Here it is, I said I'd post it if the photos worked out.

Hey, you know what it's like when you've got one chance to take your photos and you hope they work? Well, I don't know why I doubted my camera, it's a beauty.

These were taken with no flash or tripod and they turned out nice and clear. FAB.

Oooh, I love our camera and would buy another in a second. It's a Panasonic Lumix TZ5 (I think that's the number) and it's about a year old to us? It wasn't a new model when we bought it either. My sis-in-law just bought the new one - I think it's the TZ10 and I think she likes it too.

Anyway, I love great tools and our great camera is one of them!

So, here's the Valentine's display.

It's on the small and compact side, but it's on the pretty side, so that counts for a lot.

The frame with the flowers is a new addition added by Photo Continental this month. It was done by Carolyn (I'm pretty sure) who teaches the floral punch craft at the shop. Amazing, hey?

The garland's looking pretty up the back there. The ends are just stuck to the shelves with blue tack. Blue tack is my friend. Always has been, just ask my mother!

I tried to make the garlands at home, but they just weren't working. I had intended on doing a long one to wrap around the handle and hang down the sides, but nup, no go. Shorter ones didn't work either. Just couldn't get the tying of them right. Flicked the whole thing and decided to make something up at the shop. Transporting them was always going to be an issue anyway.

I'm happy with it - looks pretty and adds to the display nicely.

A couple of close-ups.

Just used hearts, ovals and circles and added butterflies along the way. It was one of those things that just came together like this without me thinking it would do this in the beginning.

Crafting is always an adventure - you never know what you're going to end up with!

I'm hoping to make a couple of pretty things to hang in the dining room this week...will see how I go. The decs might prompt a card from my Valentine too, ha ha.

Have a great day!
