Hi there and hello to you!
How are you at the beginning of this fine week? Fine is not referring to the weather, whether it's fine or not!
Last week I said I was going to show you the cards I made for the boys.
Joey's birthday was in Jan, so his card has come and gone.
Jack's and Casey's are a month apart, so I made them at the same time. Making a few things at once really saves time.
So, here they are. I used the leftover papers and bits from Joey's frame - they're from the My Mind's Eye Alphabet Soup collection.
The card bases are the actual patterned paper. I don't do this a lot, but I don't know why. It's a good idea, really. Particularly if the back of the paper is quite plain or has a ledger pattern (it particularly rocks if it has a ledger pattern).
These ones were patterned inside, but I just chose some journalling cards (one from the die cut sheet and another completely random one from my stash) to put inside to write on.
And the fun really kicked in when I thought of using googly eyes.
The fun started to kick out when I couldn't find the googly eyes, but then it kicked back in again when I eventually discovered them in my top drawer.
I spy some little perforation bits on that giraffe and I'm here to say I did trim them. Obviously not very well, which isn't great, is it? Perforation bits (or punch out bits - whatever they're called) are always cut off in this crafting kitchen, so how these few got missed is beyond me. I was probably distracted with the lack of googlies at the time.
Well, hope they make you smile. Sorry about the photo - it was night time and I had to use my lamp instead of natural light like I usually do.
Casey's birthday is over a month away and I've got his card sorted.
Big 'ole pat on the back for me.
Enjoy your day!
these are so cute! i'm a slacker for using patterned paper and have a huuuge stash i have vowed to decimate this year. thanks for the ideas.
ReplyDeleteSuch adorable little cards and the patterned background really adds to the interest. Love for you to link it up to my challenge here http://angsandy.blogspot.com/2011/03/sandys-challenge-3.html
